I Made a Demo for my game

Recommended Posts

I made a dumb little (game?) That was originally a joke. Its sprouted into much more now, and I want the most constructive criticism. I'm cold, I can take some cruel words. But, so far, there's just text, and a musical theme to go with it.
1. Its a demo, the full game is not that close to being done, but nearly there.
2. Theres more info in the Asked Questions at the end.

whats the game called?

Its name was never really decided upon, so it just became Friendly Misadventures. Which, in hindsight, sounds like a porno.

I love it!

Entertaining, and in it's current incarnation doesn't strain the computer in the least.

Nice sound track, and the user interface is nice (on my machine, old text and buttons don't disappear, but it isn't annoying).

Tested it on a:

Toshiba Satellite 2805

700MHz Pentium III

S3 Savage IX graphics (the program complained about that on startup)

Windows XP Pro SP3

I'll test it on a modern Win 7 machine a little later when my battery dies and I have to switch laptops.

EDIT:
Alright, had some time to test it on a modern computer:

Lenovo Thinkpad W520

2.5GHz i7-2860QM

Nvidia Quadro 2000M graphics (Program didn't complain about anything on this machine)

Windows 7 Ult 64-bit

On the modern machine, there were no issues whatsoever. Interestingly, load time was not much faster on the modern machine despite a much faster hard drive and processor -- weird. The text and buttons appeared and disappeared when expected, sound worked fine. No surprises.

My assessment remains unchanged -- a very solid start and I can't wait for the finished product.

Where's the criticism? The hard facts? The painful truth? It can't be that good, its just a measly demo. I even added a cringy reference to my fursona and Ms.Minnie!

Don't sell yourself short -- that game is nice and will be a heck of a good finished product.

This is an EXCELLENT start, Anon! There's only one issue I saw with it, and that's how some words are punctuated. Like "dont" and "youre" as you have them are technically incorrect, apostrophes are needed. Though that's just a simple proofreading thing that's easily taken care of ^w^ Everything else works really well and I'm excited for what's to come!

Yeah, I was very tired, and the program didn't have spell check.
